Hearts are not just for Valentine, but for ANYTIME!! This pattern is fairly simple and a wonderful way to practice your crochet. It’s written in both US and UK terminology. Let’s get started!! :}

 

What You Will Need

  • Any size crochet hook (I used a size G/6)
  • Yarn (I used Red Heart Yarn in Turqua, Use any color you wish)
  • Scissors (I recommend, a small pair)
  • Yarn needle

 

Abbreviations

MC – magic circle
Sl St – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TRC – triple crochet

 

Pattern (US Terms)

Start with 9 hdc in MC, sl st to 1st hdc (If you don’t know the MC, ch 2 and hdc 9 into second chain from hook)
In next ch 2 hdc in each stitch around (18)

First Side
ch 2, sk 1 st,4 trc in next, 2 dc in next, 2 hdc in next, 2sc in next, sc in next 4 (ch 1 in last sc)

Second Side
4 sc, 2sc in next, 2hd in next, 2dc in next, 4 trc, ch2,  sl st  to center

Second Side
4 dc, 2dc in next, 2 htr in next, 2 tr in next, 4 dtr,  ch2,  ss  to center
